Ghosts and Mummys and Death - Part 21

A new day brings on a new training session.

It's time for Cowface to get some much needed training. I want to make him a staple in my team.

I run around Route 7 and train the zebra and even find a couple decent TMs Charge Beam and X-Scissor.

I even get a call from my Mom, who is just checking on me.

After training up Cowface a tad I start training Cracker.

Cracker will be a great addition to the team once he evolves so I have him Giga Drain and Ingrain himself through victory after victory...

Until...

During a trainer fight I send out Cracker and have him use Ingrain. I defeat the first Pokémon easily enough, but the second gives me a start. It's a Ducklett and it will give Cracker a spot of trouble. I try to switch out Cracker, but forgot that I can't if I use Ingrain. I watch in sorrow as Cracker nearly defeats the bird, but takes an Air Cutter to the face...

I sadly take my little mushroom and bury it.

I take Catapult to the front and begin to train him. He has some bulk and a decent moveset so he can take care of himself a bit.

While fighting random Pokémon in the grass I get nervous while fighting an Emolga so I switch out Catapult, but he is hit by Pursuit, which is powered up when used on a Pokémon that is switching. It deals a massive blow and...

I'm starting to get a sense of deja vu...

I cry a little and start training up Cowface a little more.

I train Cowface until I reach Twist Mountain, but I cannot go any further.

I decide to train up Odessa a little and then...

He evolves into Cofagrigus! It's a Pokémon design that I both like and dislike, but it's another evolved Pokémon and that means it gets a little stronger as well! I welcome the sarcophagus with open arms (times 4).

I head over to Celestial Tower and get ready to meet up with Skyla. This is a place to bury Pokémon , and full of trainers and ghosts. It's too spooky for many...

I switch in Cowface for more training and I take a few steps deeper into the tower and...

Oh.

Oh you guys.

It's a Pokémon that evolves into one of my all time favorites!

It's a Litwick! I cross off the next nickname off my list and name it Licky. I'm super super excited for this one!

I don't train it because Cowface is the Pokémon that I need to train the most as it will wreck the next gym.

After slipping through the tower, fighting and getting stronger I reach the tippy top, where Skyla is waiting.

I talk to her for a bit and ring the bell and she heads back to the gym, where she is waiting to fight me. I head back down the tower and get a little bit of training under my belt, but not much.

I head to Skyla's hangar and enter her gym...

To fight her next time on Nuzlocke Challenge with Whitemistake!

Ninjas Can Kiss My Lucky Egg - Part 20

I turn on a little background noise, this time it's Jurassic Park 3 on the SyFy channel.

Eesh... I forgot how horrible this movie is...

I head off to the cave, where Clay is waiting for me. The entrance is being blocked by a spiderweb made by Galvantulas. He clears it for me and gives me the TM for Bulldoze.

I'm left alone and head into Chargestone Cave, which is a new area!

I'm excited for a new Pokémon, but first I have to deal with N, because I see him a few steps away. I take a deep breath, ready to fight him, but first a Pokémon appears!

It's an adorable tiny, Joltik! It's an Electric/Bug-type, which is also the smallest Pokémon in existence.

I catch it, use the next name on the list (Bigguns, which is pretty funny) and remember I have to head towards N. As soon as I do ninjas appear.

Yes... ninjas.

N spouts his random nonsense and calls the ninjas the Shadow Triad, calls me the chosen one and then he warns me that there are Team Plasma grunts up ahead. They leave me, but soon I am joined by Juniper and Bianca.

Nothing about what they say matters because... they give me a Lucky Egg.

I love them more than anything now. Bianca and Juniper are my favorites. They gave me an awesome item. An item that will pretty much double the speed at which my Pokémon will level up.

I give them the honor of my attention now and realize that Juniper wants me to find Klink so she can study it. I promise to do my best and head into the cave.

There are lots of trainers and lots of random encounters happening here. I get in some much needed training.

I run into more ninjas as well and they re-remind me of the Team Plasma grunts further inside.

I don't fight everyone here though. I can use some of these trainers for training later on. I'm planning ahead!

I fight Team Plasma left and right and eventually I see N again.

He's blocking the N-trance to Mistralton City. He's blocking... the N... trance.

N challenges me to a battle.

He has four Pokémon.

The first is a Boldore, which is the evolution of what Amasya would have been...

Bigguns goes out first, but is switched with Xanadu. Xanadu takes it out with a couple Rock Smashes.

Next he sends out a Joltik, which is KO'd by a single Crunch.

He sends out a normally dangerous Ferroseed next.

Normally, this is a dangerous Grass/Steel-type, but Xanadu takes it out easily with a Rock Smash.

Klink is N's last Pokémon and it's the one that I had to gather information on for the lovely Professor Juniper.

Xanadu cleans up this last Steel-type and I have defeated N again.

Juniper and Bianca appear after the battle and N and Juniper talk for a bit. N despises Juniper and tells her that he does. After a short yelling match N runs off and Bianca tells me that she is Juniper's bodyguard now.

I run into Mistralton City where a man and lady interrupt me.

The man calls himself Cedric Juniper, Professor Juniper's dad.

He upgrades my Pokédex and introduces me to Skyla, who is the next Gym Leader and a hot-shot pilot.

She says she wants to battle me, but she has to wait because she saw a sick Pokémon on Celestial Tower. She says I can join her if I want and she runs off on her own.

I explore the town and find a TM for Skydrop and not much else.

Route 7 time!

I run into the tall grass and find a...

Zebstrika! The evolution of Yuko! I got Yuko back and stronger than ever! I catch it and call it Cowface, which is the next name on the list.

Post end.

Interruptions In My (Pokemon) Life - Part 19

I start to head over to Route 6 to meet up with Clay so he can give me that TM that he technically doesn't owe me, but it would be nice to get one...

Bianca stops me before I can get to Clay...

She still has four Pokémon.

She sends out her Herdier which Xanadu takes down in a couple Rock Smashes, even after she heals it once with a Hyper Potion.

I send out Cracker to get some experience, hoping that eventually he will evolve into a big ole mushroom as Bianca sends out Pansage.

I switch back to Xanadu and take out Pansage with a Crunch after he is bitten himself.

Next is her Pignite, which Cracker sees and then immediately runs back to be switched out with Xanadu. Xanadu gets hit by a critical Take Down. I get scared for Xanadu and have him Dig.

Dig KO's Pignite.

She sends out her last Pokémon, which is Musharna.

Cracker comes out, but I switch it out immediately for Xanadu, which is super strong against this Dream Mister. It tries to use a Psybeam against Xanadu and it practically bounces off of him harmlessly.

Xanadu takes a bite out of Musharna like Scruff McGruff takes bites outta crime and down she goes.

With Bianca defeated she gives me a useful HM for Fly, but I can't use it since I have nothing that can learn it, which is a bummer, but that could possibly change in the future.

I'm about to head up to Clay, but real life intervenes.

A friend of mine decides that he needs to trade some Pokémon to have them evolve in Pokemon X and Y. I turn off Black for a short time and load up my X.

I meet him online and trade to have two of his Pokémon evolve. His Magmar and Electabuzz need to evolve!

He begins to trade them to me, but I see that they don't have the hold items they need. So we do it again.

Sorry for the delay guys, this will hopefully be done soon.

Eventually everything works out and I get him a Magmortar...

...and an Electivire.

After the trades are over I head back to training. I train my buns off.

Everyone is now level 30 or higher. I think it's a good enough time to stop for today.

My Team:

Xanadu (Sandile) level 44 - Desert Resort
Catapult (Trubbish) level 30 - Route 5
Shorty (Minccino) level 35 - Route 16

Going Down Deep For Clay - Part 18

It's time to hit up the gym. I just wish that I had some Water/Flying duck or even a really cold ice cream cone to have at my side...

Ghetsis however is blocking the way with an entourage of grunts in his wake. He wants Clay to release the prisoners that he had just gotten from the last post.

Clay doesn't want to and calls Ghetsis for doing the evil things that they said they were against. Ghetsis tells him that they only steal from wicked people.

That must mean Bianca is evil.

Clay calls him straight out and tell Ghetsis to his face that he is a liar. But for some reason Clay still gives up his prisoners and gives them over to Ghetsis.

Cheren says that he needs to train more before he can defeat Clay and he runs off. I don't feel the same way and I head inside to to the Gym.

An elevator takes me down into the middle of the earth and there is scaffolding, elevators and trainers everywhere.

I put Cracker up front. He isn't super strong against Ground, but he should be able to hold his own.

There is a good chunk of trainers here and Cracker is even able to beat a couple Pokémon himself, which is surprising.

I finally make it to the final elevator and head even deeper into the gym. I pass layers of dirt and fossils and even a giant metal door that slowly opens up. This doorway leads to Clay's inner chamber of sorts which is filled with crystals and conveyor belts.

I take a final deep breath and get ready to possibly lose Xanadu...

Let's get it on you cowboy of a Gym Leader.

Clay has three Pokémon. He sends out the first one, which is a Krokorok, just like Xanadu used to be!

Xanadu barely even lets this level 29 Pokémon of Clay's out. One Rock Smash is all it takes and Clay has one less Pokémon.

His next member of his team is a Palpitoad, a Water/Ground-type, that is an evolution of Tympole.

It looks like it has warts growing over its body and they jiggle when it moves. It's rather gross.

I keep Xanadu out, but I need to be careful, because Xanadu is weak to Water. I have Xanadu use Dig, which will be amplified by it being a STAB move and the fact that he is holding Soft Sand. Palpitoad tries to use Bulldoze, but misses because I'm underground and next turn Xanadu doesn't hold back. Clay's second Pokémon goes down.

His third and final Pokémon is ready to come out now and it is a level 31 Excadrill, which is so powerful (if trained correctly) that it is actually banned from lots of online play.

It's a brutal Ground/Steel combo and I know that it is weak to Fighting moves (jeeze, is everything weak against Fighting lately?). I have Xanadu use Rock Smash (which by now Xanadu has been beefed up by two Moxies). Excadrill goes down.

I just won against a Gym Leader. Using one Pokémon. Never losing life. What... just happened...

I get the Quake Badge!

And I also get the TM for... wait... Clay isn't giving me a TM?!

He tells me to meet him out on Route 6, which is the only place I can go to, so I head on over there.

My Team:

Xanadu (Sandile) level 42 - Desert Resort
Catapult (Trubbish) level 22 - Route 5
Shorty (Minccino) level 20 - Route 16
Odessa (Yamask) level 23 - Relic Castle
