You Can't Spell Dragon Without N - Part 25

Let's skip ahead a little bit. I'm currently inside Dragon Spiral Tower.

There is a huge explosion from up above, but I don't know from what. I head further upstairs and find Cheren hoping along some ancient pillars.

What is he doing? He'll break his neck up there!

I follow his lead and eventually run into a room where Cheren and Brycen are fighting a bunch of Team Plasma grunts. They tell me to go on ahead.

Like I need to be told twice...

I realize that there is a bunch of trainers and higher-ish level Pokémon up here so I can train up my weaker ones, like Bigguns.

I send him out against a Team Plasma memeber who kills it with a critcal hit from a High Jump Kick.

Well... that's great... I was hoping to use this tiny tick to take some initiative later on in the game. Try to keep it together.

I get nervous about training here and beat up the rest of the grunts with Licky and Xanadu. They don't even break a sweat.

I even get feel another explosion from higher in the tower. The whole place is shaking a lot.

Suddenly an old man named Giallo, which is actually also a great form of Italian thrillers in cinema, reveals himself as a sage. He was making a speech to his grunts, but I interrupt him and suddenly I'm surrounded by four grunts at once. All of them ready to fight me.

I sweep them all easily without trying myself or my Pokémon too much.

I head upstairs and there he is... N is standing with a black Dragon.

He tells me that he now has the power to take on the Pokémon Champion and rid the humans of the world of enslaving Pokémon. He then proceeds to tell me that the only way to defeat his plan is to use Reshiram, which needs to be awoken.

Zekrom then starts to fly around and swoops in and snatches N off of the ground and flies away for good.

Cheren and Brycen finally beat the couple of trainers that they were fighting a while ago and tell me that we all need to gather our forces to beat N. We meet up with Cedric who is surprised that Zekrom is real and he seems a little scared to be honest.

Even Alder joins us and says that he is scared of N. Mostly because Zekrom and Reshiram both nearly destroyed the world... by themselves. He thinks that it is a very, very good idea to go out and find Reshiram before Team Plasma tries to and to defeat N.

The only thing is that no one has any clue as to where to find Reshiram.

We all decide to go to the oldest place we can think of to look for clues.

Odessa's home. Relic Castle.

But first!

I head onto Route 8 before leaving, looking to find a replacement for Bigguns.

The first Pokémon I come across in this area is a...

Oh... great...

It's a Stunfisk. It's a Ground/Electric-type. It's not the best... but it will have to do for now. Plus it's also it has Electric moves, which will be good in replacement of Bigguns and Cowface...

I name the guy Racksy.

After capturing him I head into the Moors of Icirrus, which is also a new area, but all that I can really find in here are Stunfisk as well, since everything is frozen at the moment, due to winter. I head out and get ready for the long trek back to Relic Castle (since I cannot use Fly at this time).

I decide that back tracking will be a great time to train Pokémon.

Gregford is up first and is slowly taking things out in Twist Mountain as we head through it. He can even hold his own against Ice-types, because he has a Fighting-move.

That is... until a wild Vanillish take him out in a critical, super effective hit...

I feel a little bad at losing him, but I hadn't grown super attached to him. It's either that or I'm becoming comfortably numb to all the death in this Nuzlocke.

After heading through Twist Mountain I decide that I should go visit my old Audino training grounds to help boost some levels.

And that's the end of this post after the training here.

Somehow Brycen Slips By Me- Part 24

After saying goodbye to Cowface I realize that I am in a new city. Icirrus City. It's currently winter here and there is snow and ice everywhere.

I search around and find a TM for Brick Break. Finally! That's such a great Fighting-move, I've been waiting for it for a while.

I head onto Route 8 and find a TM for Sludge Bomb and Facade, both are pretty decent moves also, I'm pretty stoked to be gaining a bunch of great moves, especially when I'm in front of the next gym.

I head towards it to get some training in for my team.

Icirrus Gym is full of Ice-type trainers and it's a big sliding puzzle to get to the end.

I slip and slide across the ice and around sharp corners and fighting trainers and... flying over giant gaps across caverns to fight more trainers. It's a pretty dangerous here so when I finally make it to the end of the gym where the leader is...

I decide I should actually fight him instead of going all the way back.

Hello, Brycen.

Brycen is the Ice-type gym leader, and Ice-types are pretty gnarly. Usually they are full of quick hits and massive damage that can also freeze a Pokémon. They are also a sort of glass cannon and have a bunch of weaknesses.

Brycen has three Pokémon and sends out his first.

Vanillish, which is what Dexxter would have been eventually...

I send out Licky and use a Flame Burst, which melts Brycen's evolved ice cream cone.

The next one he sends out is a Beartic.

This one scares me a little bit so I have Licky use Inferno. It's a strong damaging move that automatically burns the opponent, but it only hits 50% of the time. It hits and burns his polar bear. It doesn't however kill it, it only knocks it into the red. He is able to get off a Brine...

Brine is a water move... Licky is super weak against water and...

Licky lives! And BEAR-ly takes any damage. Get it? Because it was a bear...

Anyways, he has one last Pokémon up his sleeve(s?). It's a super fast Crygonal.

I keep Licky out there to counter it and it gets hit by an Aurora Beam. Licky let's a Flame Burst rip. In the next round the two moves are repeated, but his snowflake melts completely after the second Fire-move and down it goes.

I got the Freeze Badge, that's number seven if you were counting!

He also throws me an okay Ice-move called Freeze Breath.

I head outside where Bianca and Cheren are waiting to talk to me about how much they changed over our journey. Suddenly Brycen appears and interrupts, but almost immediately after N's ninjas appear.

This place got crowded real quick...

They tell me that I have to go to Dragon Spiral Tower and then they disappear. Cheren and Bianca and Brycen for some reason all think that the invitation that the ninjas gave to me also was for them and they all run off towards the Tower.

That leaves me by myself. I head off to Dragon Spiral Tower and that means a new area to catch things. I have a chance to catch a Dragon-type here, which would be extremely useful and since it is winter I also have a good chance at snagging an Ice-type.

Both would be great. I head into the tall grass and cross my fingers.

It's a winter Swasbuck. It's a Grass/Normal-type. I catch it and name him Gregford.

Cedric then stops Bianca and myself and warns us that Team Plasma is at the top of the tower trying to revive a Legendary Dragon. Bianca then admits that she isn't strong enough to fight them, but she wants to be Cedric's bodyguard.

I wouldn't want a bodyguard that just said they aren't strong...

My Crew and I Get a Little Twisted - Part 23

The Cheren battle still isn't too different. He still has a team of four Pokémon, which he starts out by sending out his Unfezant and I send out my Licky.

Lick gets Taunted and then follows up with a Flame Burst. Unfezant then uses Detect, which protects against an Inferno that I send towards the bird. Eventually, Unfezant uses Air Slash and Licky uses another Flame Burst to knock the bird out of the sky.

Simpour is the next in line to fight off, which I send out Cowface to interfere.

Cowface uses a Discharge and that is that.

Servine is the next one that Cheren sends out and I re-send-out Licky.

Servine slashes out with a Leaf Blade, which critical hits Licky down to pretty low HP. Licky gets off a Flame Burst and I return it back. I switch out to Cowface again and Servine uses Leftovers to heal itself.

Cowface uses a Flame Charge that KO's Servine, but only after Servine uses Leaf Blade.

Last of Cheren's Pokémon is his Liepard. It uses Fake Out against Cowface first. Cowface counters with a Stomp and it not only knocks out Liepard, but is a crit. I beat Cheren!

Alder calls my battle great and then he jumps off a cliff.

He talks to Cheren and I, and Cheren is till being a little turd. Alder is done taking that from the little punk and retaliates.

"Just accept the compliment without the stinging remark."

He then gives the two of us Surf and leaves us to our own devices.

I head into the tunnel, which is a new area. Welcome to Twist Mountain.

Clay and Cheren are nearby the entrance and Clay tells me that the Gym Leaders are looking for Team Plasma. Even though I seem to be the only person who can defeat them and constantly find them without even trying... Clay tells me that we should forget Team Plasma and just have fun with our 'mons.

It's winter time on Twist Mountain so I have a higher chance of finding some solid Ice-types. I run around and run into the first Pokémon...

It's a Boldore the future evolution of what Amasya was going to be... I catch the rock and name it Totts.

It's time to head deeper into the mountain. I start to train and find special items like TM Substitute.

I train against Cubchoo, Boldore and even Throh.

And a Throh is what takes out Cowface after being hit by two Revenges...

I scream enough to scare my landlords that live above me and continue to train on the mountain, eventually running into Cheren and Team Plasma, which have all been defeated already.

I need to bury Cowface, but not before Cedric stops me to talk about Dragon Spiral Tower. I don't even remember what he says as I head to the Pokémon Center to say goodbye to Cowface...

*WHOOPS! I just saw that I hadn't changed Xanadu to evolving from a Sandile to a Krookodile this whole time. That has been adjusted!*

Skyla Sends Me Soaring Through Her Gym - Part 22

Do you know what time it is?

I head into the gym and realize that it is indeed a giant hangar... with canons?

I seriously have to fight trainers and get shot out of canons... like old carnival folks.

Cowface is chewing all of the Pokémon the trainers have and it takes them out all in stride and without taking much damage.

Before long I'm standing in front of Skyla. I take a look at Cowface and he looks a tad bit tired (also known as his PP is down for his moves). I take a canon out of the gym and head towards the Pokémon center.

I heal and run directly back into the gym and straight for Skyla. I also get a little nervous and train Cowface up a few levels.

I talk to her and we begin the battle.

Skyla has three Pokémon and sends out her first. It's a Swoobat.

It's a Psychic/Flying-type and can cause a hassle if not dealt with quickly. I send out Cowface who uses a Discharge and Swoobat doesn't even make a noise.

Swoobat is taken out and before I know it she sends out an Unfezant.

There are two types of Unfezant, depending ultimately on their gender. Skyla has the brown one on the right. It's a Normal/Flying-type and Cowface snorts in her face before taking it out with another Discharge.

Cowface actually gets a level in the process and grows to level 46.

Her final Pokémon is a Swanna, which is what Tumbles would have eventually become...

Cowface must feel my pain and automatically destroys Swanna.

And with that I defeated Skyla and recieved the Jet Badge!

She also hands me TM for Acrobatics, which is sometimes helpful, but I don't have anything that can use this move now anyways.

I head outside to heal up Cowface's PP on his moves again, but... N was stalking me outside.

He completely goes by me and talks to my Pokémon, specifically Cowface. He asks if he likes being my Pokémon. Cowface doesn't disappoint however and tells him that he likes me, but that doesn't help. N still wants to take all Pokémon away from all humans.

Oh... and that he wants to awaken a legendary black Dragon to help him in his quest in taking all Pokémon from people.

He then walks off and I'm left alone to think about my own Pokémon from being taken from me.

In the meantime I head off to train a little, specifically Licky, because I love the little guy.

I train him until he evolves at level 31 into a Lampent.

I get a little excited and head towards the next area, which is Twist Mountain. Cheren stops me, however, before I can continue and he challenges me to a battle.
